The Maple & Moss Method

The Maple and Moss Method is a style of learning that comes alive—where children are free to explore, create, and connect with nature, with one another, and with the God who lovingly designed them. Every child is uniquely made, and our approach honors that truth through hands-on experiences, heart-led guidance, and a deep commitment to curiosity, creativity, and care.

We nurture a wide range of learning styles in a warm, home-based setting where small group experiences feel personal, peaceful, and full of purpose. It’s learning that feels like life—rich in meaning, rooted in faith, and tailored to the whole child.

The c-STEM Approach

We believe creativity is essential to learning—that’s why we integrate arts and crafts into our STEM activities, transforming them into c-STEM experiences that engage both the analytical and imaginative sides of the brain.

Whether it's building colorful wind-powered machines, painting with natural pigments while learning chemistry, or creating story-based engineering projects, our sessions make learning hands-on, expressive, and unforgettable.

Why does this matter? Studies show that children engaged in arts-integrated learning experience up to a 17% increase in cognitive development, especially in areas related to problem-solving, memory, and innovation (National Endowment for the Arts).

At Maple and Moss, we're not just raising thinkers—we're raising creators.

Crafting + STEM Integration

We blend creativity with problem-solving through thoughtful, open-ended projects that combine art and STEM. Children might design a bird feeder, build a rain gauge, or create a working pulley using natural materials—all while practicing engineering, measurement, and innovation. This integrated approach develops critical thinking, fine motor skills, and a sense of wonder in how things work—all in a way that feels like play.
